While over 70% of minority students play video games, the workforce $150B gaming and $1.5B esports industries are almost non-existent to underrepresented and underserved communities. The GamerEd™ initiative is designed to teach and train the next generation of diverse leaders within these industries.
The Yard: HBCU Esports Alliance (HEA) is a diversity and inclusion initiative designed to significantly increase the participation of HBCU students, alumni and fans in the $150B gaming and $1.5B esports industries. The HEA is built as a replicable model for various HBCU campuses, the HEA initiative features four distinct pillars that will drive diversity and inclusion in current and future aspects in gaming and esports.
GamerEd® features a Career and Technical Education (CTE) platform that teaches specific career skills to students in high school as they prepare for post-secondary institutions. The project allows educators to develop strategies that allow 9-12 students to expand their knowledge and behavior as they make both college and career decisions.
